Wow what a…view?
News.com.au reports that Caity in Sydney, Australia, stumbled across a shocking find while scouting a crash pad after her friend’s party.
Caity thought it would be cheaper to book an Airbnb because the party was only a 45-minute drive. While browsing, Caity found a location that was listed as “Camping Swag Under The Stars.”
Caity knew something was off right away after seeing the bold asking price of $1,156 AUD for just two campers. For three campers, Caity was looking at a solid $1,500 AUD. That comes out to about $950.49 USD!
In the images, questionable pictures of a gated, overgrown pool were on display. To top everything off, the original poster of the listing included a picture of a tent.
“At first, I thought it was some kind of insane glamping experience for that price. But no, it was basically a swag and the photos of the property looked unkempt and the backyard looked like it hadn’t been mowed in months,” Caity shared with Kidspot.
Perhaps just as insulting, the photos posted indicate that the swag isn’t even set up when you arrive.
So that leaves any takers building the tent themselves.
Additionally, the description for the Airbnb is sure to bring up the swag’s ‘prime location and ocean views.’
“Camp true and cosy under the stars in this waterproof camping bedroll swag,” the listing boasts.
After Caity confronted the host, they swiftly replied, touting the listing’s amazing beach and valley views, as well as the enchanting nighttime lights and soothing sounds from the water.
“A main feature of is the large blue pool, balcony and it’s five minutes from multiple beaches, shops, nature walks and everything else you need. Sleeping bags, blankets and anything else you need can be supplied. House access for kitchen and hot showers is welcome if you choose.”
Also, the owner casually mentioned a $200 cleaning fee.
Caity insisted that $80 would’ve been a far more reasonable rate.
We think tf not!
Since then, Caity can no longer view the listing, which means it was either removed or Caity was blocked by the owner.
Ladies and gentlemen, keep in mind that anyone can post a listing on Airbnb.
Take that however you want!
