Aging with grace is everyone’s dream. Sure celebrities have the money and the resources to take better care of themselves, but common folk can’t help but wonder what their secrets are. Are all celebrities secretly vampires? Aliens? Is that why their wrinkles and blemishes suddenly disappear the moment someone points them out in off-guard photos of them?
I digress. Thankfully, some celebrities are willing to give us tips and tricks about their self care routines. In 2015, Salma Hayek enlightened us with her “go-to” skincare routine. At the time, she was a graceful 48-year-old beauty queen.
Now she’s 54 with a whole lot more to give!
Seeing that she hasn’t aged a bit in recent years, we’re sure you’re just as curious as us to find out what the heck this seemingly ‘ground-breaking’ routine is that has helped Hayek defy the laws of aging.
Recently, Hayek sat down for an interview with Elle and mentioned topics like beauty, friendship, her diet and other life advice before spilling the beans. It was during this conversation that we got a better understanding regarding her secret pick-me-up:
“I use an ingredient called tepezcohuite that’s used in Mexico for burn victims because it completely regenerates the skin, and there’s no one in the States who is using this ingredient except for us. Some of the ingredients, when I took them to the American labs, they were like ‘Oh my god! How come nobody is using this?’ This is why I have no Botox, no peels, no fillings. I’m 48. I will be 49 this year and I only use my creams.”
In further researching the cream, The Derm Review explains that it’s “claimed that the bark has highly potent skin regenerative abilities and can heal burns by promoting healing and the growth of healthy skin. Tepezcohuite’s skincare properties are suspected of coming from the high content of nutrients in its bark.”
It’s no surprise that other companies have now started adding tepezcohuite in their products. It’s almost surreal knowing that this antimicrobial ingredient can be found on Amazon for just $10 a container. Use it all over for soft and supple skin. It also contains antioxidants, lipids and tannis as well promoting a healthy glow that will leave your skin feeling and looking youthful and fresh.
So there you have it! Do your skin a favor and humor Salma Hayek!
