It’s been 13 years since Henry Selick’s last film, the stop-motion animated hit Coraline. For the past seven years, Selick has been developing the upcoming Netflix film Wendell & Wild starring the comedic duo Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele. Jordan Peele, now most notably known for writing the hits Get Out, Us, and Nope, co-wrote with Selick to adapt Clay McLeod Chapman’s unpublished book.
The Plot
The film follows two mischievous demon brothers, named Wendell and Wild (voiced by Key and Peele), who team up with a 13-year-old named Kat (voiced by Lyric Ross), to assist them in returning to the Land of the Living.
The Cast
Angela Bassett, James Hong, Sam Zelaya, Tamara Smart, Seema Virdi, Ramona Young, and Ving Rhames will also be featured in supporting roles.
The Release Date
Wendell & Wild will be released theatrically on October 21st then released for streaming exclusively on Netflix a week later on October 28th. Just time for Halloween!
