Oola: Talk about why it was so important for your company to showcase real women, and different body types when marketing your swimsuits?
Reshma: Our mission is to change the conversation around fashion and women’s bodies, and to empower women to feel sexy on their own terms. We’re here to give our customer everything she needs to feel confident and empowered, exactly as she is.
Oola: All of Summersalt suits are the perfect balance of flattering and functional. What is the TrueMeasure process and how has it revolutionized style and fit in swimwear?
Lori: Our data is what helps us give our customers that perfect fit we’re known for. We use 1.5 million measurements taken from the body scans of 10,000 diverse women to inform each and every Summersalt piece. We’re committed to creating chic, sustainable styles that are made to fit our customer, not the other way around.
Oola: What are some of your current favorite Summersalt swimsuits that look good on most body types?
Lori: All of our suits are designed to be ultra-flattering, but my tried-and-true favorite will always be The Sidestroke. We offer it up to a size 24 and its diagonal seaming, combined with our signature compressive fabric, makes it fit like a glove. We have so many fun colors (and limited-edition prints) but I am partial to the solid Deep Sea (navy) colorway. It’s just so classic and timeless!
Reshma: My current favorite is our Ruffle Backflip! It is so comfortable, has a beautiful open back, and has little feminine details that make it feel really special.
Oola: In 2019, Summersalt branched into travel wear and resort wear, anything new to keep an eye out for in the coming months?
