Recipe Notes
Can you store Dalgona coffee?
Yes! Dalgona coffee will keep in the refrigerator for about two days in a sealed contained container. But, it will lose its shape over time, becoming somewhat watery.
Dalgona coffee is too strong. Can I add more sugar or water?
If you find that the original recipe for Dalgona coffee is too strong, feel free to adjust the recipe to your suit tastes. For those that prefer a sugary beverage, prepare the following:
2 tablespoons instant coffee granules
3-4 tablespoons granulated sugar
3 tablespoons hot water
Can you use ground coffee for Dalgona coffee?
No. It’s not recommended to use other types of coffee when making Dalgona coffee. Regular ground coffee will not dissolve the way instant coffee granules do. You’ll also find that it may not whip up correctly, as it won’t form stiff peaks or it won’t whip up at all.
Can Dalgona coffee be served hot?
Certainly! Simply, warm your milk.
Can you make Dalgona coffee without sugar?
For best results, we recommend using granulated sugar to create a creamy whipped effect. If you’re avoiding sugar, try coconut sugar, or monk fruit sugar as an alternative.
No Electric Mixer, No Problem!
If you’re wondering how to make Dalgona coffee without an electric mixer, don’t fret! You’re in luck! There are plenty of other options on how to create this dreamy heavenly foam for your daily caffeine fix. But be forewarned, some of the alternatives take some elbow grease!
Whisk
Yes, you can use a whisk. No surprise there! But it’s going to take a little effort, but we believe in you, and you’ll have to believe in yourself if you want some of that tasty Dalgona coffee goodness. They say that you’ll have to whisk the mixture 400 times give or take. Honestly, it’s probably closer to 1000.
Milk Frother
A milk frother is a handy alternative to a stand mixer, with less cleanup. It whips up Dalgona coffee nicely. We recommend the handheld PowerLix Milk Frother.
Fork
An absolute last resort, the fork can be used to whip up Dalgona coffee, but it will take some serious elbow grease and dedication. Good luck!
Blender
A blender can be used as an alternative to an electric hand mixer or stand mixer. The whipped coffee’s peaks may not be as stiff as they would be if prepared in a stand mixer.
