When potato chip cravings strike, instead of kicking your feet up with a bag of shame, challenge yourself to eat a healthier alternative. Whether combating cravings or looking for ways to sneak more vegetables into your diet, air fryer zucchini chips are a delicious low-carb, keto-friendly snack everyone will enjoy!
Air Fryer Zucchini Chips Without Breading Versus With Breading
Let’s be real—overcoming carb cravings is a challenging endeavor. Zucchini chip recipes that call for multiple steps, such as an egg wash and breading are unnecessarily complicated and are unlikely to become a regular part of your healthy snack routine when easier options are available. When a crispy, salty craving strikes, a simple snack recipe is in order.
Air fryer zucchini chips without breading are an utterly delicious gluten-free and keto-friendly snack. Zucchini rounds are perfectly capable of crisping up in the air fryer on their own. No extra calories are needed. Yet, some keto-friendly ingredients can really make these chips shine! A small sprinkle of kosher salt, garlic powder, rosemary, and parmesan cheese can go a long way.
Enjoy the flavors of these savory zucchini chips with a deliciously crispy parmesan coating and delicate center. Air fryer zucchini chips are all about enjoying the taste of deep-fried foods without the guilt. So, go ahead, indulge, and be thankful for a cleaner kitchen.
Air Fryer Zucchini Chips
Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 small zucchinis, sliced 1/8-inch thick
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon rosemary
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- pepper, to taste
- 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
Supplies
- cutting board
- chef’s knife
- medium bowl
- air fryer
Directions
Wash and dry the produce. On a cutting board, using a chef’s knife cut two small zucchinis into 1/8-inch thick rounds.
Place the zucchini rounds into a medium bowl, and toss with 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt. Set aside for 5 minutes while the salt draws moisture from the zucchini.
After 5 minutes, empty the zucchini onto a cutting board and pat dry with paper towels. Place the zucchini back in the bowl and toss with olive oil.
Sprinkle the zucchini with rosemary, garlic powder, pepper and, parmesan cheese. Stir to coat.
Place the zucchini rounds in the air fryer in a single layer. Do not overcrowd. Air fry the zucchini chips at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes, or until crispy, tossing halfway.
Recipe Notes
Why Are My Air Fryer Zucchini Chips Soggy?
If your zucchini chips are soggy you may have skipped an essential step in the recipe in hopes of saving a little bit of time. Zucchini has a high water content (about 94 percent). Tossing zucchini rounds in salt helps draw out some of that moisture. Skipping this step could result in soggy zucchini chips. If kosher salt is not on hand, table salt will do.
Can I Make Air Fryer Zucchini Chips in the Oven?
Sure. If you don’t own an air fryer or you’re preparing zucchini chips for a larger crowd, an air fryer may not be ideal. To bake instead, place the zucchini rounds on a greased baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until crispy, tossing halfway through.
Zucchini Chips and Dip
Air fryer zucchini chips are glorious on their own, but they’re even better when paired with your favorite dip. Serve these addictive finger snacks with a side of creamy ranch, fry sauce, blue cheese dressing, marinara, or hot sauce.
