Not every meal has to be such a big production. Wouldn’t it be nice if you could just throw a few things together and come out with something delicious? Instead of slaving away over the stove, you could be learning to play an instrument, enjoying a nice warm bath, or binging your new favorite show. To give you a little more time to do what you want to do, we’ve gathered a group of our recipes as well as a few others to bring you some drinks, desserts, sides, and yes, even entrees, that only require a trio of ingredients.
Crockpot BBQ Chicken Sandwiches
Sure, you could marinate chicken breast in barbecue sauce, throw it on the grill, and call it a day. Or, you could make it look like you actually tried and make our 3 Ingredient Crockpot BBQ Chicken Sandwiches instead. Simply toss your chicken in the crockpot with barbecue sauce (we like Trader Joe’s Organic Sriracha and Roasted Garlic BBQ Sauce), then stir in some chicken broth.
Watermelon Sangria
Summer, summer, summertime! Time to sit back and unwind with a pitcher of watermelon sangria. You don’t have to choose between a red or white wine. With rosé as a base, this punch packs the best of both worlds. But we didn’t just stop with watermelon in rosé. No way! We add bubbly champagne for a refreshingly effervescent brunch-y beverage.
Peanut Butter Cookies
Whip up a batch of these Simple 3-Ingredient Peanut Butter Cookies next time you’re craving something sweet. Just mix peanut butter, sugar, and egg, then ball and bake. Presto peanut butter cookies! They’re way easier to put together than say, chocolate chip (which require you to keep chocolate chips around), but they also don’t contain any flour, so they’re gluten-free.
Chicken Tacos
Did you know that if you throw chicken breast, taco seasoning, and salsa in a crockpot for a handful of hours you end up with chicken tacos? Okay, so technically some tortillas and toppings would be nice, but still. Pair these taco de pollos with 3 Ingredient Mexican Rice.
Beer Queso
What goes well with chicken tacos? Beer queso. Bless the drunken person who discovered that cream cheese combined with shredded cheese and a bottle of beer creates a creamy queso dip. Pass the tortilla chips, please.
Smoothies
Now we bring you not one, but 16 Simple 3 Ingredient Smoothies That Will Keep You Healthy on the Go. Our Orange Creamsicle combines OJ with Greek yogurt and a frozen banana, but not all of the smoothies use yogurt as a base. The Key Lime Pie blends milk with a frozen banana and fresh lime juice. And not all of them use frozen bananas. To make a Hydration Station, blend frozen blueberries and raspberries with cubed watermelon. Mmm! If those are too fruity for you, try the Peanutty ‘Nanner, which is simply milk, frozen banana, and peanut butter. If you’ve got more of a sweet tooth, many of the smoothie recipes, like the Protein Frosty, call for chocolate protein powder.
Peanut Butter Cereal Bites
Yes, I’m aware peanut butter cookies are already on this list, but these Peanut Butter Cereal Bites are different, haha! Who knew combining real honey and peanut butter with your honey nut cereal would make such a scrumptious treat?
Mac & Cheese
Sure, there’s two-ingredient mac n’ cheese that requires a blue box and water, but this 3-ingredient Mac & Cheese uses actual ingredients instead of processed neon orange powder. The noodles actually cook in the milk, then you stir in shredded cheddar. Genius!
Honey-Roasted Carrots
Tasty’s Honey-Roasted Carrots recipe coats carrots in butter and honey with a little sprinkle of S&P before roasting at 400 degrees for 25-30min. Allrecipes’ version uses olive oil instead of butter, and bakes them longer at a lower heat. While the butter version tastes better, olive oil is of course better for you. Experiment with both to see which one you like best.
Teriyaki Chicken
While traditional teriyaki is made with soy sauce, mirin, and sugar, Tasty’s 3-ingredient Teriyaki Chicken simmers chicken in soy sauce and brown sugar for a similar effect. Serve with 3-Ingredient Garlic Broccoli Stir Fry and white or brown rice.
