A Negroni is a classic aperitif cocktail, comprised of gin, Campari, and dry vermouth. To take your booze game to the next level, we love this drink in popsicle form. It’s the perfect complement to the summer season, and will surely make your patio a party!
What You’ll Need
- citrus juicer
- cutting board
- Chef’s knife
- stock pot
- measuring cup aka jigger in bartender speak
- ice cube tray or popsicle mold
- popsicle sticks
- wooden spoon
Ingredients
- 2 oz. gin (our favorite is Plymouth Original)
- 2 oz. Campari
- 2 oz. Vermouth (our choice is Cocchi Vermouth di Torino)
- 5 medium blood oranges
- 8 oz. water
- ½ cup sugar
Instructions
Step #1: Heat It Up
Heat stock pot on low. Add sugar and water and stir occasionally, until sugar has dissolved.
Step #2: Juice Time
Juice the five blood oranges. Warning: the juice will be ruby red, not orange like regular varietals of this citrus.
Step #3: Boozy Bliss
Once sugar has dissolved, remove pot from heat. Add alcoholic ingredients and juice and stir until evenly combined.
Step #4: Fantastic Freezing
Carefully pour into popsicle mold. If using ice cube trays, simply freeze at least 12 hours. Pour carefully into molds. Freeze until partially solid, about two hours, then add sticks to the center of the popsicle. Continue freezing for another 10 hours before enjoying.
