If there’s anyone in the world known for their amazing, athletic bodies, it’s supermodel Gisele Bündchen and Patriot’s Quarterback Tom Brady. Of course, to maintain those bodies, they have to stick to some pretty strict workouts and, obviously, diets. In an age where every celebrity diet is crazier than the last, Gisele and Tom have managed to surpass them all in terms of total insanity. Their personal chef, Allen Campbell, recently did an interview with Boston.com about what he feeds the famous duo and “restrictive” doesn’t begin to describe their diet.
First of all, veggies come first and foremost. “80 percent of what they eat is vegetables. [I buy] the freshest vegetables,” Allen told Boston.com. Not just any vegetable is good enough to make the cut, however. “If it’s not organic, I don’t use it,” he revealed. They aren’t total vegetarians, though Allen admits their diet is “very different than a traditional American diet.” About 20 percent of their diet is lean meats. “Grass-fed organic steak, duck every now and then, and chicken.” So far, it seems pretty tame, but things definitely get crazier the deeper you dig into this diet. Honestly, it just leaves us like:
The list of foods they can’t eat is way longer than the foods they can. According to Allen, there’s no “white sugar. No white flour. No MSG. No coffee. No caffeine. No fungus. No dairy.” With all those “No’s,” it’s hard to imagine Tom or Gisele ever actually enjoying their meals. That list is pretty much everything we look forward to on any given day.
Tom even has his own specifications and he doesn’t eat “tomatoes, peppers, mushrooms, or eggplants.” Basically, any food that’s considered a “nightshade.” He also steers clear of fruits, though it’s not clear if that’s a dietary restriction or just Tom’s own personal taste. He does occasionally stoop to eating bananas in a smoothie, but otherwise, Allen says, “he prefers not to eat fruits.” We’re totally sure that both Tom and Gisele both enjoy their diet, but we’d probably last less than an hour before we pigged out on whatever we could get our hands on.
We don’t think we’d last a single day on this diet. All these restrictions mean that pizza is basically forbidden, we’d have to say goodbye to doughnuts, and don’t even get us started on the lack of caffeine. One thing’s for sure though, Tom and Gisele are made of tougher stuff than us! Do you think you could stick with this extreme diet for one day? Sound off in the comments!
