Sweating before a first date, a big job interview, or on a hot day in the summer is natural. We’re all human and when we get nervous or start overheating our bodies need to cool us down somehow. While we can fluff off our sweating as a natural bodily function, that doesn’t mean we can turn a blind eye to our clothing as sweat stains leave their mark on our favorite shirts. Knowing foolproof ways to remove sweat stains from your clothing will keep your shirts at their best and those around you none the wiser.
How To Remove Sweat Stains
You may have heard of a few stain removal methods through the grapevine, but this simple recipe is the definitive way to lift stains right out of your clothing without damaging them.
What You’ll Need
- 3-4 aspirin tablets
- 1/2 cup of warm water
Steps
- Crush 3 aspirin tablets and place them into the 1/2 cup of warm water.
- Soak the stained area of your garment in the solution and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour. Let sit for 2 hours if you’re looking to get rid of more stubborn stains. Aspirin has salicylic acid which helps to attack stains.
- Rinse and wash as usual.
Additional Methods
Now, we can’t forget about various go-to methods that have also been proven to work. For example, you can use dish soap, baking soda (of course), vinegar, or salt. These additional stain removers will pull yellow spots from your clothing as well and work in a pinch if you’re missing some key ingredients from other recommended methods.
