Like basically everyone, I’ve been working at home since that dreaded day in March 2020, when everything shut down. For the past two years, I’ve spent hours rotating from my work computer to my phone, to my TV, to my laptop, then would start the process all over again the next day. But hey, what else was there to do?
After countless hours of staring at all of these screens (shout out to my phone for shaming me for the amount of time I spent scrolling through cat videos), I noticed my eyes were starting to hurt quite a lot. Which, in turn, gave me a lot of headaches and eventually migraines. When even dark chocolate couldn’t help the migraines, I knew I had to try something else. Luckily, my co-worker let me in on a little secret of his: he was able to make staring at screens all day easier by using some TIJN Blue Light Blocking Glasses.
TIJN Blue Light Blocking Glasses
Pros:
- All-day protection without any harsh yellow glare
- Comes in 13 color variations
- Can buy in single or double packages without doubling the price
- No prescription needed
- Works with prescription contact lenses
At first, I was pretty skeptical. How could I order glasses if I didn’t have a prescription? Luckily I didn’t need one, since these frames are non-prescription, so anyone is free to order them. Still on the fence, it took seeing my coworker, Eric, use them in so many meetings for me to think, “Eh, why not give them a shot?” Thankfully, I took that shot, and these have quickly become a work-from-home staple for me. As I continued to wear them, it became evident how helpful these glasses would be. Equipped with a 100% UV screen flicker, harmful blue lights are prevented, and there’s no harsh yellow glare found in other glasses.
One of my biggest gripes about glasses is after wearing them for a while, the temple tip starts to hurt the area behind my ears. Every pair I’ve tried has been too snug in that area, and I’ve dreaded wearing them. These glasses fit me perfectly – the temple tips rest lightly on my ears, and I’m able to wear them for hours on end without getting a headache.
I’ll be honest with you, the one downside to these glasses is trying to decide which color to get. With 13 colors to choose from, it took some time for me to pick. Eventually, I settled on Marble Tortoise – an adorable black and white combination which honestly reminds me of a Dalmatian (I don’t know why, either, they just do). They also go with anything I wear, so I don’t have to worry about clashing.
Amazon user Samantha Alexander raved about these glasses, saying, “These are so cute and comfortable! Definitely helped me at work while staring at a screen for 8 hours, and then at home for schoolwork on my laptop. Thank uuuuu.”
One unexpected perk of these glasses is, I’m finding it much easier to fall asleep at night. Like most people, I watch a T.V. show (right now, I’m rewatching New Girl for the sixth time, of course), and I used to not be able to fall asleep for a good hour after the show ended. Now, that time has been cut in half, as my eyes are protected from the harsh light of the T.V. when I wear these.
With working from home becoming more popular, it’s a good idea to invest in things to make it easier. These glasses were one of the first purchases I made for my home office, and they’ve made working remotely a lot easier. If you’re tired of strained eyes, then the TIJN Blue Light Blocking Glasses are for you.
